Before I get into all of our upcoming plans and exciting news, I wanted to take a quick second to thank everyone who made it possible for TTR to have such an amazing year. 2011 marked the year of TTR’s debut LP, Bodiless. With that, we supported our full length 3x around the US with some amazing bands which we are more than honored to call friends now. So thank you to all of the bands, fans and friends, promoters, zines and blogs who made it possible for Lonn and I to have such a successful year.
Now, onto some of the exciting parts. TTR will begin production at the end of January on our second full length record! Production will take place in Brooklyn at Orange Sound Studio with engineer Paul Occhialini as well as our home studio in New Haven. The new LP will be mixed in London by Neil Comber (Florence and The Machine, Goldfrapp, Bat For Lashes, Crystal Castles), and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, The Killers, NIN). We are thrilled to be working with a whole new team of people since this record will be exploring new territory for us.
To top it off, this isn’t the end of our exciting news. I wish we could tell you more at this point, but we will let the cat out of the bag as soon as we are allowed to! Here’s to a sick 2012, and thanks for making it possible! More details to come soon.

Sinister Whisperz Pt. 1 recap/update!
Saturday, May 21st, 2011Well, we finally made it home after an insane trek up and down the mid-west and east coast with Thrill Kill Kult and 16 Volt. Thank you to all the old and new friends and fans we met along the way. Our new friends in 16 Volt unfortunately had to drop off the second half of the tour, and we will miss them terribly. Luckily, Michigan’s B.M.M. will be opening the package for Sinister Whisperz part 2 and we look forward to sharing the madness with them this summer. Tour will begin again on June 17th in Detroit, MI at the Token Lounge and will continue to make its way to the west coast though the beginning of July. Now as main support for Thrill Kill Kult, we will be switching up the current set list by adding Body Blue and a live version of A Place For Polaris to the live show. You can also see the most recent live photos from the Sinister Whisperz tour here. Hope to see everyone out there on the second half of Sinister Whisperz as we bring our brand of electronic pop to the industrial dance floor!

Sinister Whisperz dates w/ My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and 16 Volt in the tour section
Press Release- New Haven, CT – In support of their critically-hailed debut BODILESS, Connecticut’s own genre-bending electronic band TWITCH THE RIPPER (TTR) will be hitting the road this Spring and Summer with dark luminaries such as Ego Likeness with The Ludovico Technique, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult with 16 Volt, and a one-off with current buzz band The Funeral Party (tour dates below). “For our first US tour, we couldn’t be more excited,” says Jon Dobyns (vocals, synth, guitar), one half of the electronic duo along with Lonn Bologna (programming, synth, drums).
Kicking off their US trek in NYC supporting The Funeral Party on March 30th, TTR will first embark on the Darkfest tour with Ego Likeness and The Ludovico Technique before joining up with Thrill Kill Kult (TKK). “We’ve been fans of TKK for years, so it’s always an honor to share the stage with acts that have helped create and mold the current scene,” he continues. “Like TTR, TKK is a group that has melded genres to create something new and has not been abled to be pigeonholed. From synth-pop, to industrial, to goth-rock, fans of all sub-genres are in for a treat.”
With impressive opening slots already on their resumé, TTR have played a number of live performances but this will be their first national tour. “We were able to support The Birthday Massacre on their Northeast run, along with supporting Nitzer Ebb, Xiu Xiu and Combichrist regionally, but we now have the opportunity to take Bodiless nationally,” Jon says excitedly. The band will be adding a third member to the live line-up to add additional synths and samplers to create the best possible live performance. “We wanted to make sure we recreated the music and vibe from Bodiless as organically as possible.”
Mixed by Grammy winner Phil Magnotti and mastered by Emily Lazar of The Lodge (Vampire Weekend, Depeche Mode), Bodiless is an album that is as organic as it is synthetic. Fueled by electronics and synths but made of viscerally human emotions, it embraces both and mixes them inextricably. From the moody percussiveness of the title track to the midnight groove of “Never Got You Anywhere” to the soaringly propulsive “Eternity,” Bodiless travels effortlessly and fluidly between synth grooves and human emotions. Fearnet hails,”it’s their moody, ’80s-influenced melodies and vocals that tie the whole package together, and that element has led many listeners to compare them favorably with the post-punk icons of that decade, including New Order and Depeche Mode. Not too shabby for a band that’s only been on the scene for a couple of years.” Their hometown daily newspaper, The Hartford Courant says the band “builds moody soundscapes around gauzy, textured synthesizer parts, subdued, chittering rhythms and ghostly murmured vocals… calling to mind Trent Reznor on some of the darker Nine Inch Nails tunes circa Pretty Hate Machine.”
“[Twitch the Ripper's] modern club-friendly beats run beneath smooth and melancholy vocals, strongly reminiscent of Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan and New Order’s Bernard Sumner, with a few well-placed guitar accents.” – Fearnet
“Its strong lyrics and sonically diverse production really do deliver the goods.” – Music Vice
